The Middle East is a region, which encompasses a majority of Western Asia and Egypt. It is the birthplace and the spiritual centre of a number of religions including Islam, Christianity and Judaism to name just a few.

Cairo Tower, Cairo

Cairo Tower is a free standing tower standing at 187 metres making it Egypt’s and North Africa’s tallest structure. Located in Cairo’s Zamalek District on Gezira Island in the River Nile, Cairo Tower is one of the Egyptian capital’s most popular tourist attractions.

Grand Serail, Beirut

Grand Serail is the official headquarters of the Lebanese Prime Minister. This spectacular building which was once a palace is situated on a hill in downtown Beirut very close to the Lebanese Parliament. It is a very historic Beirut landmark and it is the most important of three Ottoman monuments on Serail Hill.

Western Wall, Jerusalem

The Western Wall or the Wailing Wall as it is also known as is a very popular Jerusalem attraction. It is located in Jerusalem’s Old City at the foot of Temple Mount’s western side. Tourists to Jerusalem should definitely visit this incredible ancient wall. When in Jerusalem it is one sight that must not be missed.

The Western wall is the most sacred site that is recognised by the Jewish faith. Dating back to the 4th Century, the Western Wall has been and still is a major site for Jewish prayer and pilgrimage.

Jabal al-Qal’a (Amman Citadel)

Located in downtown Amman, the Amman Citadel is a must see national historic site.

This L-shaped hill is one of the seven jabals, which originally made up the Jordanian capital. The Amman Citadel is known as the Jabal al-Qal’a in Arabic and it is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited places.

This historic Amman site symbolises the birth of the three monotheistic religions – Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Visitors here will be able to explore a fantastic open-air museum. Also enjoy the Jordan Archaeological Museum, which is also located on site. Here you will discover an amazing collection of artefacts and spectacular objects from Jordan’s other historic sites.

Yarkon Park, Tel Aviv

A trip to Yarkon Park, Tel Aviv’s large urban park is a must. On an annual basis sixteen million visitors file through and enjoy the lavish surroundings and the impressive attractions that this park possesses. Visitors to Yarkon Park enjoy visiting one of the parks most popular attractions, which is Tel Afek and its fortress, Binary Bashi, which dates back to the times of the Ottoman Empire. Located on an ancient tell (mound), this fortress was built in 1571. This stunning fortress is majestically located overlooking the Yarkon River.

Azadi Tower, Tehran

The Azadi Tower is the main symbol of the Iranian capital. Located in the middle of Azadi Square, Tehran’s famous square, this particular square has played a prominent role in the history of this Iranian city as it was the site for numerous demonstrations, which led to the Iranian Revolution.
