Prague is known to suffer from weather extremes, with freezing winters and uncomfortably hot weather during the summer months. Typically the best time of the year to pay a visit to the Czech capital is at the end of spring or at the beginning of autumn, when the weather is pleasant and the climate is mild.

Between October and March, the harsh climate can be a little too chilly for some and a number of attractions and palaces may be closed. Those of you who are keen skiers will definitely be pleased to hear that Prague is a mere three-hour bus trip from some of the Czech Republic's best ski resorts, such as Harachov, Snezkou, Spindlorov Mlyn and Krkonosye, in northern Bohemia.

Restaurants are extremely plentiful in the Czech capital, and deal in all types of fare from traditional to fusion. No matter what part of Prague you are in you’ll find somewhere to re-charge the batteries. Getting Around

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. If you can't continue to your destination on foot, you'll be able to catch a tram or bus from near the subway station.

To move around town freely, you are better off using public transport over driving or taking a taxi.
