Along the hill, you’ll come across several lookout points, which provide breathtaking views over the entire city of Tallinn and its rooftops to the Baltic. On your way back to the lower Old Town, you will pas Kiek in de Kok Cannon Tower, which retains a sense of impenetrable defiance.

Kadriorg Palace, which once belonged to the Tsar's, is definitely a tourist attraction for the entire family to enjoy.  Catherinethal is a petrine baroque palace of Catherine I of Russia in Tallinn. It was built after the the Great Northern War to Nicola Michetti's designs by Gaetano Chiaveri and Mikhail Zemtsov.  The Palace is the home to an art gallery and also the Kumu Art Museum. This art museum is the largest one in the Baltic's and one of the largest art museums in northern Europe.

The climate in Tallinn is characterised by a fairly cold winter, a cool spring, with little precipitation, a moderately warm summer and a long rainy autumn. However, some summers have weeks at a stretch of temperatures around +30 degrees Celsius and a warm, sunny summer can keep autumn at bay until mid-October. The restaurant scene in the Estonian capital is growing rapidly in choice and quality. Getting Around

The OId City of Tallinn is best navigated by foot. A network of buses and trams cover the rest of the city.

By Tram: Tallinn's tram network covers the entire city centre. There are four routes and they all meet at Viru Centre, at stop Hobujaama.

By Bus: The bus network covers the entire city. Tourist Bus Tours (look for the red coloured buses) are also available at designated stops in Tallinn's Old Town.

Tourists flock in their droves to this charming and picturesque Estonian city - where the nightlife and party scene is second to none.  Tallinn offers plenty of bars and pubs, which are conveniently located in the Old Town of Tallinn, within a short distance of one another. You will find Irish and English bars. Molly Malone’s located on the Town Hall square definitely has the best location of them all.

O’Malley’s and Club Havana provide ample opportunities for nights of revelry. Another, slightly classier hang-out is the oldest pub in town Hell Hunt, where you can eat an amazing meal, washed down with  great variety of beer with some incredible music on the side.

You may wish to try trawling the city's excellent lounge bar scene. Over the last few years Tallinn’s trendy nightspots have characterised its nightlife, and visitors have a few great options to choose from if they want to see and be seen. The CatHouse is definitely one of them. A visit to the Butterfly Lounge is a must for any visitor to Tallinn as it provides an excellent competition of mixing cocktails. Clazz is another venue that is worth a look too.

In some restaurants in Tallinn you will have to seat yourself, so don’t wait to be seated. In pubs, you will generally need to order and pay at the bar. Visitors from Ireland will be happy to note that service is nearly always through English. The VAT (20%) is always included and a gratuity should never be added to the bill.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities in Tallinn. The Old Town of Tallinn is literally lined with dozens of souvenir, antique and speciality stores. The most central shopping centre is Viru Centre and it is home also to the Kaubamaja department store.
